Jennifer Lopez Finding Love with Brett Goldstein Would ‘Take a Lot of Guilt’ Off Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck genuinely wants Jennifer Lopez to be happy, says a source, even if it’s not with him.

As Globe previously reported, there have been rumors that her chemistry with Office Romance costar Brett Goldstein extends far beyond the camera.

While Affleck, 53, doesn’t know the Ted Lasso alum, 45, personally, notes the source, “he has some friends who [do] and they’ve had nothing but good things to say [and] that’s enough for Ben to root for him because he knows J. Lo is happier when she has a partner.”

After tying the knot with Affleck in 2022, Lopez gushed to Apple Music 1‘s Zane Lowe that “true love does exist, and some things do last forever,” only for them to call it quits two years later.

The split was devastating and while chatting with comedian Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine in 2024, the “On The Floor” singer confessed that although she didn’t regret the pain she went through, “not [for] one second,” it almost took her out for good.

Affleck “truly feels awful that he couldn’t be that person for her,” Globe‘s source reveals. “He thought he could and he tried, but he ultimately had to tap out, so it would actually take a lot of guilt off his shoulders if [J. Lo] were to find love again with Brett.”

That’s not the only reason.

“It’s no secret Ben is trying to wash his hands of her,” adds the source. “So in his view, the faster she can find happiness with someone else, the better.”
