Man Who Harassed Father for Taking His Two Daughters to the Women’s Bathroom Loses His Job

A man who called the police on a father taking his two young daughters to a women’s bathroom at a gas station has lost his job after the video went viral.

TikTok user Tyler Brodsky shared a video on his TikTok account on Tuesday, June 16, that showed him helping his two young daughters wash their hands after using the women’s room while a man — who is not affiliated with the establishment — stood in the doorway talking loudly on his phone to police. The man stated that the family of three had no right to be in the women’s room and demanded the police do something. At one point, he said he planned to stand in the doorway until they left.

In the caption of his post, Brodsky notes that there was no one in the bathroom when he entered to help his two little girls.

Brodsky asked his followers if he was in the wrong in the incident, prompting the video to go viral as people rushed to defend him. It sparked a larger conversation about single parents and public bathroom use. As a result of the video’s popularity, Overstreet Properties, a real estate company that employed the man who called the police as an independent contractor, announced it has since cut ties with him.

“The conduct depicted in the video does not reflect the values of Overstreet Properties or the standards we expect from those who represent our organization,” reads a statement on the company’s Instagram. “Our focus remains on providing quality service to our clients, partners, and community. The individual depicted in the video is no longer associated with Overstreet Properties.”

At one point in the video, Brodsky’s daughter can be seen crying. He comforted her by saying that “some men are just immature.”

Eventually, a female employee of the gas station entered the bathroom and closed the door on the man calling the police and apologized to Brodsky and his girls for the man’s behavior. In a follow-up video about the incident, Brodsky revealed her name was Melissa and gave her a shoutout for her conduct.

“When everything was happening, Melissa stepped in immediately. She checked on my girls, helped calm the situation down and made sure that we were okay,” he said. “As a dad, seeing someone show that kind of kindness to my daughters in a stressful moment means a lot.”

The irate man continued to berate the father while speaking with police on the phone after they exited the bathroom. He was upset that his wife could not use the bathroom because the man and his three kids were in there.

According to his follow-up video, the police eventually asked the man to leave the gas station before approaching Brodsky and his daughters to assure them they’d done nothing wrong.
