Days after a damning report about Christian group Life Surge was published, Tim Tebow said he is “pausing” his relationship with the company.
Tebow, 39, regularly appears as one of many high-profile keynote speakers at events hosted by Life Surge, where attendees pay to come experience a day of talks about faith and finances. An investigation published by Mother Jones and podcaster Pablo Torre Finds Out on September 24 details how the organization allegedly uses predatory sales tactics to entice people to invest in more pricey seminars, sometimes to the tune of up to tens of thousands of dollars. The article estimated that Tebow and other speakers, like Jeff Foxworthy and Magic Johnson, are likely paid up to $100,000 for their appearances.
“I am so devastated that Christians like Tim Tebow made me trust in something that has taken so much money from me,” read one complaint about the group.

In a video posted on X by a Gainesville Sun reporter, the former University of Florida quarterback and retired NFL star said, “I think the allegations are extremely, extremely serious, and it’s something that we take very seriously.” In addition to saying he would be pausing his relationship with the group, he said his team plans to “do an investigation.”
Tebow also said he was “caught off guard” by the allegations.
