Tiger Woods ‘Wasn’t Able to Really Be There’ for Vanessa Trump Amid Cancer Diagnosis, Rehab Stint

Tiger Woods spent a month in rehab in Switzerland after his latest arrest for DUI. At the same time, however, girlfriend Vanessa Trump was secretly battling cancer.

“This is why she was so adamant that he get treatment and get himself on the right track. She was facing a health scare and Tiger wasn’t able to really be there for her,” a source told Daily Mail on Thursday, May 21. “So she was like, ‘I’m not going through this and holding your hand for addiction at the same time.’”

Vanessa, 48, who was previously married to Donald Trump Jr., publicly revealed her diagnosis on Wednesday, May 20.

“I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer,” she shared via her Instagram Story. “While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan…I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.”

According to the Daily Mail source, the mother of five has “a huge support system aside from Tiger.”

“Obviously, she has enough on her plate to not have to worry about him and his addiction,” the insider noted. “She may not be saying she resents that he wasn’t here for all that, but the fact remains that she was getting a cancer diagnosis and he wasn’t there.”

“He wasn’t able to support her like she needed,” the source added. “So she may not be saying that, but I know Vanessa, and I guarantee that she’s thinking it. I know that 100 percent.”

The pro golfer and Vanessa publicly debuted their relationship in 2025, going Instagram official that March.

“Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together,” Woods, 50, captioned the sweet post. “At this time, we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”

One week before Vanessa’s cancer announcement, Woods was photographed landing back in Florida after leaving treatment.
