Tiger Woods ‘Terrified of the Battle That Awaits Him’ in DUI Case After Returning Home From Rehab

Tiger Woods is back home from rehab.

On Thursday, May 14, TMZ published photos of the professional golfer, 50, touching down at Palm Beach International Airport after seeking treatment in Switzerland in the wake of his DUI arrest.

“Tiger has been told to switch off and focus on sobriety and overall health, and he’s doing his level best to do just that,” a source tells Globe. “But it’s proving impossible” amid the latest development in his case.

On Tuesday, May 12, a judge granted a motion allowing prosecutors to request Woods’ prescription drug records, according to TC Palm.

“Every day seems to bring more bad news and this latest blow has hit him hard,” the source reveals. “He says it’s an outrageous violation of his privacy as well as a clear indicator that the authorities will stop at nothing to throw the book at him.”

It’s not the first time Woods, 50, has been arrested in Florida on suspicion of driving under the influence.

In 2017, Jupiter police found the five-time Masters champion asleep behind the wheel, but he avoided serving jail time after pleading guilty to reckless driving.

This time, though, locals are calling on Woods to receive the maximum 60-day sentence, per The Spun.

“There’s still the remote possibility of jail time, which is hanging over him like a dark cloud,” Globe‘s source says of the golfer, who pleaded not guilty to the most recent DUI charges. “He’s committed to … coming out stronger but terrified of the battle that awaits him.”
