Barron Trump Has College Girlfriend Amid NYU Campus Transfer After Keeping Love Life Under Wraps

Barron Trump has found love in college.

According to a report from Hello! Magazine published on Sunday, September 27, Barron, 20, has reportedly been dating a girl he met at college, with the outlet noting that the pair have been “quietly dating for over a year now.”

Though not much is known about his love life, the outlet said the romance update comes following Barron’s transfer to the Washington, D.C., campus of New York University’s Stern School of Business.

While Barron, the son of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, began his studies at NYU’s Greenwich Village campus in fall 2024, he later transferred to the school’s Washington, D.C., campus, per a report from People. During his time in Manhattan, he commuted to classes from Trump Tower.

The news about Barron’s love life comes after the president, 80, was asked about his son’s dating life during a 2024 appearance on the PBD Podcast. When asked whether Barron had a girlfriend, Trump admitted he wasn’t sure his son was “there yet, adding, “I don’t think he’s had a girlfriend yet.”

Barron’s romantic relationships have been kept largely under wraps over the years, though Hello! reported that prior to his college girlfriend, he was dating a TikToker named Maddie, who called Barron her “first BF,” adding that they attended high school together.

He has also been linked to other love interests in the past, the outlet noted, including Sarah Claire and a model, Klara Jones, who is two years older than him.

Barron’s love life is not the only thing of interest; his college life has been a hot topic as well, with an April 2025 Vanity Fair profile detailing how his high profile and constant Secret Service presence have shaped his experience at NYU.

“He’s sort of like an oddity on campus,” Kaya Walker, the former president of NYU College Republicans, told the outlet. “He goes to class, he goes home.”

Students interviewed for the piece also said they had a difficult time becoming friends with Barron. One student told the outlet that he invited Barron to play basketball with some of their classmates. While Barron seemed interested, the student said the presence of the Secret Service made it nearly impossible, leaving him with the impression that Barron “wasn’t really allowed to do stuff.”

Walker, meanwhile, resigned after her remarks went viral, per The Hill, later clarifying that she was criticizing the intense parasocial fascination around Barron on campus, rather than insulting him personally.
