Catherine Zeta-Jones Celebrates Michael Douglas’ Birthday Amid Rumors of Trouble in Paradise

Catherine Zeta-Jones marked a birthday she shares with husband Michael Douglas by posting a photo of the two kissing in the water.

“Happy Birthday darling! A birthday kiss to my husband Michael, sharing this special day with you, is as special as the day itself. Love you😘😘[,]” Zeta-Jones wrote alongside the Instagram photo on Friday, September 25.

Both wore sunglasses as they embraced in turquoise water, with a palm-lined shore behind them.

Zeta-Jones turned 57, while the Wall Street star turned 82. They married on November 18, 2000, at New York City’s Plaza Hotel, and have two children together: son Dylan, 26, and daughter Carys, 23.

The pair’s shared birthday drew congratulations from friends and followers in the comment section, including Michael’s son Cameron Douglas, whom he shares with first wife Diandra Luker.

“Happy happy Birthday to two of the greatest people I know…here’s to many more years filled with Love and Happiness 🩷🩵🤍[.]” Cameron, 47, wrote on the Chicago star’s social media post.

The couple have shared affectionate messages during earlier milestones, too. For their 25th wedding anniversary in November 2025, Zeta-Jones posted wedding photos to Instagram and wrote, “I love you today as I did then. Thank you sweetheart.”

Michael marked the occasion with his own Instagram tribute: “Happy 25th anniversary, my darling Catherine. Who knew? All my love, Michael.”

However, the celebration comes amid rumors of trouble in paradise for the couple. In February, Globe exclusively reported that Michael felt like an “afterthought” as Zeta-Jones kept a busy work and social schedule.

“Michael seems to get left in the dust a lot,” the source said.

Zeta-Jones’ new TV show, Kill Jackie, premieres on Amazon Prime in October. The source said Michael supports his wife’s career but claimed the couple has been spending less time together.

Another source told Globe in July that Michael  has been spending an “absolute fortune” indulging Zeta-Jones’ love of luxury travel. The source said Michael spares no expense on their European vacations and is eager to make up for years when work took priority over their marriage.
