Barron Trump appears to be laying low for a while.
According to a new report from the New York Post published on Friday, August 28, Barron, 20, was described as “pretty reclusive” as ongoing threats against his family have largely kept him out of the public eye.
“He doesn’t go out,” another source told the publication.
PresidentDonald Trump‘s youngest son has reportedly become even more cautious following the September 2025 assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, whom the Post said Barron had grown close to.
“This is what happens when you go out there,” he reportedly told his father when he learned of Kirk’s death.
The comment was first reported by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan in their book, Regime Change, according to the outlet.

Barron recently completed his sophomore year at New York University and has reportedly spent much of the summer with his mother, First Lady Melania Trump, at the family’s Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club.
He has remained under tight security as his father has faced multiple assassination attempts and threats in recent years, but those concerns have only intensified in recent weeks. As Globe previously reported, Iranian state media aired a disturbing video targeting Barron that claimed to track his movements and was titled “Where to kill Barron Trump.”
Euronews reported that the video also claimed that a $10 million bounty had been placed on Barron’s head. However, that detail has not been independently confirmed.
The Secret Service recently confirmed that it had been made aware of the video and was investigating the threat.
