Though temperatures in Washington, D.C., are expected to be in the hundreds on Saturday, July 4, there is no slowing down the 80-year-old president.
Earlier in the week, the Apprentice alum said that he is still prepared to speak in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
“By the way, on July 4, it’s going to be approximately 107 degrees outside, and I’m going to go, and I’m going to make a really long speech just to show that I can do anything,” Trump said on July 1 at the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Medora, North Dakota, per USA Today.
According to the National Weather Service, the weather for Saturday in D.C. is expected to be “mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 102.”
Though there is a chance of showers between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., heat index values can go as high as 110.
The NWS has issued an extreme heat warning for Independence Day.

Trump’s remarks will take place during the “Salute to America 250 Celebration & Fireworks” event, which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. local time on the National Mall in D.C., according to its website.
The president is expected to begin speaking at 9:45 p.m. ahead of the “World’s Largest Fireworks Display” beginning at 10:30 p.m.
According to the event’s website, safety precautions are in place considering the scorching temperatures.
“In light of current heat conditions, Freedom 250, United States Park Police, National Park Service, the United States Secret Service, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have coordinated closely to adjust event timing and expand cooling resources, water stations, and medical support across the grounds,” it reads on the event’s website.
“We are proud to welcome the public to a safe, well-prepared, and truly memorable celebration of America’s 250th birthday,” it added.
