Tiger Woods’ recent DUI arrest comes as no big shock to insiders, who say he’s been off the rails for a while now and desperately needs to get help before it’s too late.
On Friday, March 27, the pro golfer, 50, was charged after flipping his car in Jupiter Island, Florida. However, as Globe previously reported, Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek believes he wasn’t under the influence of alcohol but rather medication.
Woods, who blew a 0.0 on the breathalyzer, “was lethargic on scene, but that we believe was because of what he was intoxicated on,” the sheriff revealed at a press conference later that day.
“He needs rehab, or at the very least a long stay at a wellness center, where he can learn new tools and process the reality of his situation,” a source tells Globe. “He can’t keep playing Russian roulette with his life like that.”

It’s not the first time Woods has gotten into a car wreck.
In 2021, the 82-time PGA champ suffered significant injuries from a rollover crash in Southern California, the recovery from which he later described as “more painful than anything I have ever experienced” to Golf Digest.
“He’s put himself under so much pressure in recent years,” says Globe’s source. “Tiger was determined to prove himself as this Mr. Invincible figure who could come back and claim another Masters title.”
Then, in 2025, less than a year after he returned to competitive golf, Woods suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon.
“It’s dawned on him that he’s never going to achieve those levels again,” reveals the source. “His body is broken, at least compared to how he was in his prime. That’s just the reality and he’s had a very difficult time accepting that.”
