Candace Owens is not writing off Megyn Kelly just yet. The conservative podcaster encouraged her followers to give Kelly “some time” to call out what she and her followers believe are lies about the Charlie Kirk murder trial.

“Do you think Megyn Kelly will course correct and call out the paid influencers…for blatantly lying about what they saw in court last Friday?” one fan wrote into Owens’ podcast, as seen in a TikTok clip shared on Thursday, July 16. “It’s shocking that she’s buying the fed slop given that she’s an attorney by trade and typically more discerning.”

Owens — a longtime friend of the late Turning Point USA founder — surmised that Kelly’s relationship to the influencers who reported on the recent preliminary hearing have swayed her reaction.

“She has a lot of background with these people, so I think she’s naturally more trusting and is obviously thinking — I’m just trying to see her perspective — maybe, ‘I’m getting the scoop to this because these people are actually on the ground and why would these people be exaggerative. I didn’t see it. They’re saying this is what they saw. Why would I discount what they’re saying,'” Owens, 37, theorized.

Kelly, 55, was called out after having influencer Jack Posobiec on her Monday, July 13, podcast to discuss what he saw in the courtroom.

“The evidence is overwhelming that [the shooter] was Tyler Robinson,” Kelly said. “They’ve got timestamps. They’ve got him identified by his boyfriend as being the man in the video…His DNA is on the rifle. All over the rifle, actually, all over the ammo. I mean it’s just overwhelming.”

Owens, who has been vocal about her belief that the accused killer, Robinson, was not even present at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, added that she believes the former Fox News anchor will “change her mind when presented with more evidence.”

Owens continued, “She may not be the first, but I don’t think she’s gonna be trusting influencers to inform her opinion when the trial goes through and is approved.”
