A father and son who were at a Burger King restaurant in Memphis, Tennessee, were allegedly attacked by two men over an Apple Watch.
A fight allegedly broke out in the parking lot of the fast-food joint on Tuesday, July 14, when Trevor Young, 30, and Dale Townes, 25, arrived in a white pickup truck, per a Friday, July 17 People report.
According to the outlet, the Memphis Police Department said in a press release that Young and Townes allegedly confronted a man in the parking lot about stealing an Apple Watch, and the two reportedly attacked him.
Police said the man ran inside the Burger King to get his father, Fox 13 reported.
“Officers confirmed the suspects had prior employment history with the son,” a news release stated, per People. “The motive for the assault appeared to be the suspects’ belief that the son had stolen an Apple Watch from them.”

The man’s father came outside to intervene and hit one of the suspects, the Memphis Police Department said, according to CBS affiliate WREG. Townes then allegedly fired a shot at the father; Young apparently prevented Townes from shooting again.
The man who was shot was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition, per WREG.
Young and Townes reportedly fled the scene. When they were found and detained, police discovered two guns inside their vehicle.
Townes has been charged with attempted second-degree murder and employing a firearm during the commission of a felony, per People. Young was reportedly charged with aggravated assault and accessory after the fact.
The father was eventually listed in non-critical condition at the hospital, People reported.
