An Indiana woman was sentenced to two years behind bars for sending nude photos to a 14-year-old she said she was in love with.
Cassidy Carter will serve her sentence for one count of battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a court in Dearborn County determined on Monday, July 6. She was previously charged with one count of child solicitation, but Dearborn County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens told Fox19 that the victim no longer lives in the area and did not want to be part of the case.
The original charge stemmed from a 2023 incident in which Carter, then 21, was working as a substitute teacher for the South Dearborn School Corporation at the school the victim attended. According to a criminal complaint viewed by the outlet, Carter and the teen became friends on Snapchat and, not long after, she began sending inappropriate messages. Things reportedly escalated to her sending him nude photos of herself to the minor.

The teen alleged that she sent him a nude image of herself every time she took a shower, often late at night.
The student reportedly told a school resource officer about the messages on December 1, 2023, about a month after they connected on Snapchat, and the officer informed the principal, who got the police involved.
Investigators analyzed the teen’s phone and found several messages from Carter as well as nude pictures of her. According to court documents, Carter told the boy she was in love with him in at least one of the messages.
The judge granted her two days of credit toward her two-year sentence.
