Marjorie Taylor Greene recently compared Taylor Swift‘s popularity to President Donald Trump‘s.

The former Georgia congresswoman, 52, appeared as a guest host on the Tuesday, July 7 episode of The View and discussed the 36-year-old pop star’s wedding to Travis Kelce, which took place at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3.

“Well, first of all, congratulations to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. I thought it was fantastic,” she gushed. “I think it’s absolutely absurd for the 80-year-old president of the United States to attack one of the most popular musicians and talented women, who is so generous to her staff and takes care of them.”

Host Joy Behar jumped in, saying, “But he thinks he’s more popular than her. Didn’t he say that this weekend?”

“Yeah, I think that’s why he’s always picking on her because he would like to be,” the politician replied. “Well, and her concerts turn out masses [sic] amount of people. A lot more than, tragically, the state fair, and I think that says a lot.”

In 2024, the New York Times reported that over 10 million people saw Swift during her Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2024.

Meanwhile, the Great American State Fair — running from June 25 to July 10 at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., in honor of America 250 — has drawn dismal crowds, per USA Today.

The official White House X page made two posts trolling the A-list couple’s nuptials last week.

In one post from Friday, they shared an image of the sign outside MSG, which read “Trump is your president,” instead of the venue’s “JUST&T MARRIED!”

“IT’S HAPPENED!!!” the post was captioned.

In an X post shared Thursday, July 2, the White House replaced Swift’s Eras Tour poster with images of Trump, 80, and other historical figures, writing, “It’s been a long time coming…” a lyric from the 14-time Grammy winner’s hit song “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince.”

Additionally, during a press conference on Monday, July 6, the commander-in-chief compared his TikTok fame to Swift’s.

“I’m number one like Taylor Swift was number 11,” he remarked, not elaborating on what numbers he was referring to. “I’m number one in TikTok by far.”

The singer-songwriter currently has 33.5 million followers on the platform, while Trump has 16.7 million.
