Marjorie Taylor Greene further split from President Donald Trump, saying there will be a “revolution” in America if he escalates the war in Iran.

The former Congresswoman, 51, took to her X account on Sunday, May 17, to issue a harsh warning to the president, 79, as she continues to question the decision to engage in a war with Iran despite past campaign promises. In particular, she warned against sending American ground infantry into the country.

“If you send in U.S. military troops into Iran, there is going to be a political revolution in America,” she wrote. “WE. ARE. DONE. We said no more foreign wars and we meant it. The coalition will unite and be unstoppable. I’ll make sure of it.”

“End this war. It’s stupid,” she concluded her post.

Greene, a longtime supporter of Trump, publicly split from him last year over a myriad of issues, including him bringing the United States into multiple foreign conflicts despite campaigning on a slogan of “no new wars.” Additionally, she criticized the president,79, on the affordability crisis and his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Currently, Trump is sending mixed messages regarding the negotiations to end the conflict with Iran. According to The New York Times, he threatened the country with a new “massive” attack on Monday, May 18, before stating that he decided to postpone the attack after three Gulf leaders requested more time to negotiate with the country.

The sticking point in the negotiations seems to be over Iran’s nuclear capabilities as well as its control over the Strait of Hormuz, a small waterway that’s key to the global oil trade. As a result of Iran squeezing the Strait amid the war and subsequent negotiations, the war is impacting the president’s approval rating as Americans feel the strain in their wallets at the gas pump.

According to Time, Greene joins other formerly outspoken Trump supporters in turning on the president over the war with Iran, such as Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens.
