President Donald Trump allegedly has detailed instructions for Vice President JD Vance in case something serious — like his death — were to occur while he is still in office, according to a White House official.

During the Wednesday, May 13, episode of the New York Post‘s Pod Force One podcast, host Miranda Devine asked deputy assistant to the president Sebastian Gorka if he has concerns about the 79-year-old president going to China to visit President Xi Jinping.

“[Trump] is the existential threat to China,” said Devine. “He alone stands between them and world domination. So they have every reason in the world to take him out. Now, they may not do it there obviously, but as someone said to me, they could just put something in the air that makes him sick.”

Gorka, 55, replied that he has “no fear” of something like that taking place.

However, if anything bad were to happen to the former reality show star — who has survived multiple assassination attempts — there are plans in place.

According to Gorka, “There is a letter in the drawer in the Resolute Desk that is addressed to the vice president should something happen to him.”

The Resolute Desk is located in the Oval Office of the White House.

Despite threats made to Trump’s safety, Gorka said he believes the Apprentice alum “is very safe.”

“The president has said it on camera sitting behind the Resolute Desk. The letter is there,” said Gorka, adding that there are “protocols” in place if Trump were to die.

“Trust me,” he insisted. “Not ones I can discuss, but we have protocols.”

According to the 25th amendment of the United States Constitution, “In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.”

“Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress,” the Constitution states.
