A Texas man has canceled his wedding following a disagreement with his would-be wife over Lindsay Clancy.
In a video shared on TikTok over the weekend, creator David Marumbao revealed that he called off his $200,000 nuptials because of his fiancée’s reaction to Clancy’s trial.
As Globe previously reported, a mistrial was declared Friday, September 4, against the 36-year-old Massachusetts mother accused of killing her three young children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, at their home in January 2023.
And while there’s been lots of varying opinions about Clancy since her case came to light, for Marumbao, his fiancée’s take on Clancy’s innocence appeared to be enough for him to throw in the towel.
“I just canceled my wedding — I was going to get married next month,” Marumbao began in the now-viral clip, which has reached over 4.6 million views and has more than 25,000 comments.

While the proceedings ended without a verdict, Marumbao claimed his ex believed Clancy should’ve been let off the hook.
“She told me that she’s innocent [and that] I would never understand what a woman goes through,” he continued.
Clancy pleaded not guilty to the charges and pursued a defense based on lack of criminal responsibility, with her attorneys arguing over the course of the seven-day trial that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time.
Marumbao then said he asked about Clancy’s three children, with the TikToker claiming it was his ex’s alleged response of “Who cares” that ultimately changed his mind about walking down the aisle.

“You know what, $200,000 done, but I can’t believe I was going to get married to a monster,” he concluded.
As for what happens next for Clancy, she remains at Tewksbury Hospital, where she has been held since the killings and is receiving treatment. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will retry the case or are pursuing other potential options, including a plea deal.
