Lindsay Clancy‘s attorney isn’t done fighting for his client now that her closely watched murder trial has ended without a verdict — he’s taken his case straight to President Donald Trump, appealing to him on live television.

Attorney Kevin Reddington asked President Trump to pardon his client on Tuesday, September 8, during an appearance on Good Morning America.

His request comes four days after a Massachusetts judge declared a mistrial after jurors failed to reach a unanimous decision.

“Mr. President, I would hope that you would consider this young lady and the person she is, what she’s been through, and consider a pardon,” Reddington said.

Clancy, 36, pleaded not guilty to three murder charges in 2023 in the deaths of her children Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, whom she shared with her former husband Patrick Clancy.

Jurors deliberated for nearly 40 hours across seven days before the case ended in a hung jury. Reddington also described Lindsay as “a wonderful, wonderful person” and said, “I do feel a very strong bond with Lindsay.”

He acknowledged that he could have been more “circumspect” after previously saying his defense had “crushed” District Attorney Timothy Cruz, but said he did not regret the remark.

Reddington’s comments come just days after Trump, 80, had publicly addressed the case after the mistrial, calling it “a horrible tragedy.”

“Look, she did a horrible, horrible thing. Can’t be worse. But you’ll find out what the price to pay is. There’ll be a price. It’s going to be [a] mental institution or jail or something,” he said, per the Daily Mail.

However, there is a major legal limitation to Reddington’s request — presidential pardon power applies to federal offenses, not Massachusetts state criminal charges, according to the U.S. Justice Department.

As per the Boston Globe, no decision has been made about what comes next for Lindsay. Plymouth County District Attorney has not announced whether prosecutors will retry the case, pursue lesser charges or consider another resolution.

Judge William Sullivan scheduled a hearing for Tuesday, September 29, to address the case’s next steps, including a possible new trial date and a defense motion seeking post-trial relief.

In the meantime, Lindsay will remain at Tewksbury Hospital under the existing court order.
