North West’s Instagram Reappears After Reports That Mom Kim Kardashian Wasn’t Happy With Account

The Instagram account of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s preteen daughter, North West, is back up and running after it appeared to be inactive on Monday, January 5.

As of Tuesday, the social media profile was once again online with its five grid posts and 1.5 million followers.

As Globe previously reported, the 12-year-old seemingly deleted the profile just weeks after launching it on December 20 and receiving backlash for her fashion choices.

After the profile went inactive, sources told celebrity journalist Rob Shuter that North’s mom, 45, was behind the decision to temporarily pump the brakes.

“Kim didn’t like what she saw,” a source told Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack. “Some of the content, comments and attention were worrying, and she felt it wasn’t safe for North yet.”

Another source said that some of the posts — which feature North’s bedazzled, spiked grills on her teeth and her long ice-blue locks — made the Skims founder “pause,” adding that the mom of four is “very hands-on and protective.”

“North’s age is a big factor,” a family insider told Shuter. “She’s only 12, and Kim didn’t want her exposed to the pressures and scrutiny of Instagram just yet.”

Kardashian’s eldest child has recently been met with backlash for her risqué style choices. North has also rocked dermal piercings on both of her middle fingers, but it appears that the controversial finger piercings have been removed following months of online criticism and health concerns raised by fans.

A source told Globe in late August that her father, 48, thinks she is “way too young to be parading around like this,” and warns, “It needs to stop.”
