Matt Damon’s Wife Luciana Left ‘Looking After Their Kids’ While He Films Yet ‘Another Massive’ Movie

Matt Damon is all work and no play these days — and it’s resulted in way less romantic time with wife Luciana Barroso, who’s feeling the burn big time, a source tells Globe.

“For a while, it looked like Matt’s solution of getting Lucy more involved in his and Ben Affleck‘s company, Artists Equity, as a producer would fix things,” says the source. “But that hasn’t really gone anywhere. She’s still running the household and looking after their kids while Matt is off working.”

In 2023, Damon, 55, told Entertainment Weekly that he had promised Barroso, 50, in couples’ therapy that he would take a break from acting, with the one exception being if director Christopher Nolan called — and he did.

The Oscar-winning filmmaker, 56, offered the Brooklyn-based actor a part in 2023’s Oppenheimer and later the lead role in The Odyssey, an action-packed epic that shot in six different countries, including Morocco, Greece, Italy and Iceland.

As Globe previously reported, The Odyssey proved to be especially taxing on Damon, who needed months to recover from the grueling shoot, and kept him apart from daughters Alexia, 27, Isabella, 20, Gia, 18, and Stella, 15, for long stretches of time, he told E! News.

Now “after a not-very-long break, he’s flung himself into another massive production,” the source says of Damon’s upcoming superhero flick, Thasnagar, which is currently filming in L.A.

“He does pretty openly express guilt at how much time away from home he’s spending on these projects, especially over the last couple of years,” notes the source. “He knows there’s a better, more sensible path, but why won’t he just take it?”
