Kim Kardashian Under Fire As ‘Absentee Parent’ After North West Rocks Another Finger Piercing

Kim Kardashian is facing backlash after her daughter North West debuted a new dermal finger piercing, sparking outrage over the potential risks and reigniting criticism of the reality star’s parenting choices.

On Tuesday, November 11, screenshots surfaced of North’s latest TikTok posts, showing off her finger piercings, per The U.S. Sun. The first photos revealed a dual dermal piercing on North’s right middle finger, which she’s shown off before.

But another photo showcased what appears to be a new dermal piercing: a blue gem on the 12-year-old’s left middle finger. The TikTok posts made their way to Reddit, where users bashed Kardashian for allowing her preteen daughter to get the piercings in the first place.

“This is what happens when you need to be your child’s best friend and not a rational adult,” one critic wrote in a KUWTKsnark thread.

“Seems more like the opposite,” another chimed in, claiming Kardashian “doesn’t care at all what [North] does.”

“Well, as I’m sure many know, one of the narcissist’s mother’s greatest threats is her daughter,” a third quipped.

Piercing and jewelry company Lulu Ave previously noted that such piercings carry risks, warning they “may not heal well due to the constant use of the hands and the risk of the jewelry getting snagged or bumped.”

Reddit users didn’t hold back, speculating that North’s body might “reject” the new piercing or she could develop “a massive infection because she is 12 and very likely does not was her hands as often as she should.”

“There is no way she is going to be able to properly care for them during the healing stage because she’s so young and probably lacks the responsibility and discipline to do so,” another wrote.

“THIS IS COMPLETELY F*D. SOMEBODY RESCUE THIS CHILD!” one critic exclaimed.

Others questioned the appropriateness of the look for someone her age. “Why are they letting 12 year olds look 25?” one person asked.

Photos posted to the Kim and North TikTok account — a joint account shared by the famous mother and daughter — shows North with a Band-aid over her right middle finger on Halloween. It’s unclear whether it was due to an injury or part of a costume.

“This has to be because Kim is such an absentee parent but also panders completely to North. It just seems like it’s leading somewhere not so very good,” another Redditor wrote.

Some commenters even recalled Kardashian’s past stance on body modifications. Years ago, the Skims founder went viral explaining why she doesn’t have tattoos: “Honey, would you put a bumper sticker on a Bentley?”

North’s new piercings may also draw ire from her father, rapper Kanye West, who has previously voiced concerns about his daughter wearing outfits that are too provocative.

A source recently told Globe that West, 48, thinks North is “way too young to be parading around like this.”

“It needs to stop, or he’ll raise hell with the lawyers,” the source continued.
