Tiger Woods is set to appear before a Florida judge in person for the first time since his DUI arrest earlier this year.
According to a report published Wednesday, August 26, by People, the golfer is scheduled to make his first in-person appearance before a judge on Tuesday, Sept. 8, per Martin County, Florida, court records obtained by the outlet.
Per the report, Woods, 50, was arrested and charged with DUI, causing property damage and refusing to submit to a lawful urine test after a rollover crash on Jupiter Island on March 27. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the outlet, Woods’ Land Rover rolled over after he “overtook” a truck hauling a pressure-cleaning trailer. The four time PGA Championship winner pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge following his arrest.

According to the probable cause affidavit, deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office claim they found two hydrocodone pills in Woods’ pants pocket at the scene. After conducting a sobriety test, officers said they “observed several signs of impairment,” including “bloodshot and glassy” eyes and “extremely dilated” pupils, People reported.
Court documents show Woods later received permission to leave the state and entered treatment for six weeks outside the U.S., according to the outlet. His treating physician recommended he seek care abroad “based upon the Defendant’s complex clinical presentation the urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States,” per the documents, the outlet reported.

Woods’ prescription drug history has become an early focus of the prosecution’s case. In May, Judge Darren Steele ruled that the golfer’s drug history would be included in the trial, despite arguments from Woods’ attorney that the records should be kept private, according to the article.
