Megyn Kelly didn’t hold back while discussing the Karmelo Anthony case, launching into a lengthy “fact-check” segment that targeted the teen’s parents, media coverage of the trial and what she called a “fake narrative” surrounding the verdict.
“A little fact-check is in order because the other reporters refuse to do their jobs. They get these parents in front of them – Karmelo Anthony’s – and they allow them to spew lies about the Metcalf family or this case, and there’s no challenge because no one will do any homework,” Kelly, 55, said during the Friday, June 12, episode of her eponymous YouTube show.
“They just want to allow them to spin this narrative, and it’s [expletive], so we’re not going to do that here,” she continued. “We’re going to correct the record so that you know what’s real and what’s not.”

While it’s unclear what point Kelly was trying to make, Anthony’s mom, Kala Hayes previously made headlines when she claimed that those who took the stand weren’t truthful.
“Everyone lied on the stand,” Hayes told CBS News in an interview published on Wednesday, June 10. “All of the witnesses’ statements were inconsistent. All of them.”
Anthony, now 19, was charged in the murder of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a track meet in Frisco, Texas, in April 2025. The two teens got into a heated confrontation after Anthony refused to leave Austin’s team’s tent during a rain delay and Anthony stabbed Austin after being pushed.

As Globe previously reported, Anthony was convicted of murder on Tuesday, June 9, and was sentenced to 35 years in prison. However, his legal team filed an appeal less than 24 hours after the verdict came in.
“It is a lie that this was an all-white jury. This is a lie being spun by race hustlers who want to stoke up racial animus in the wake of this totally just verdict,” Kelly continued. “There were no Black people on the jury, but it wasn’t all white.”
