Kim Kardashian and North West Break Their Silence Amid Outrage Over Tween’s Controversial Finger Piercing

After months of criticism, Kim Kardashian and North West are finally addressing the backlash over 12-year-old North’s finger piercings.

On November 11,  TikTok user @mazzy_williams posted a video, writing, “North west getting a finger piercing is breaking my heart, just me?” with the caption, “what is going on #northwest #kardashians.”

Two days later, the mother-daughter duo responded to the post through their joint TikTok account, Kim and North.

“It’s okay,” they wrote in the comments, adding a heart hands emoji.

The simple reply sparked another wave of discussion — this time with some users jumping to North’s defense.

“Not North gentle parenting you,” one comment reads.

“How does it affect you like actually,” one user questioned the original post.

“I did my own finger piercing at her age and I turned out great lol,” another added.

“She wanted the piercing and Kim let her pls stop Kim’s just trying to let her kids express themselves,” one person defended.

The tone was far different from last week, when North posted a TikTok showing a dermal piercing on her left middle finger. Users slammed Kardashian, 45, for being an “absentee parent” and criticized the body modification.

North — Kardashian and Kanye West’s eldest child — first debuted dermal piercings on her right middle finger in September. Piercing and jewelry company Lulu Ave previously noted that such piercings carry risks, warning they “may not heal well due to the constant use of the hands and the risk of the jewelry getting snagged or bumped.”

The tween’s piercings even made their way onto Reddit, where commenters claimed North was “way too young” to be getting such a risky piercing. One person who may be siding with the critics is North’s father, Kanye.
