Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel reportedly reached out to Charlie Kirk’s widow to apologize over comments he made about the Republican activist’s assassination — but Erika Kirk now reveals she shut him down.
Erika says Sinclair Broadcasting, which owns dozens of ABC stations carrying Kimmel, had asked if she wanted to appear on his late-night show where he’d publicly apologize for his inflammatory remarks, according to New York Post.
“I told them thank you … This is not our issue, not our mess,” says the 37-year-old mom of Charlie’s kids aged 3 and 1. “If you wanna say I’m sorry to someone who’s grieving, go right ahead. But if that’s not in your heart, then don’t do it. I don’t want it. I don’t need it.”

Kimmel was booted off the air for a short time after controversial remarks about 31-year-old Charlie’s murder during his speech at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.
In a Sept. 15 monologue, he said: “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”
Kimmel’s Disney TV bosses suspended him for a time “to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country.”
A teary-eyed Kimmel later apologized after returning to his show, but never said the word “sorry.”
