A Los Angeles judge has denied Cher’s request to place her son Elijah Blue Allman under a conservatorship amid his latest legal woes.
According to a report from People published on Friday, April 24, the judge told Cher, 79, that she did not see “sufficient urgency” requiring Allman, 49, to be placed under a conservatorship.
The Mermaids star, however, can file again if she chooses to do so because the judge rejected her request without prejudice.
Because Allman has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital in Connecticut, the judge didn’t believe he could gain access to money left to him by his late father, Gregg Allman, through a trust fund.
“A lot of people don’t show up to court and get a default judgment and don’t need a conservatorship,” the judge said, per People. “I am going to deny the temporary conservatorship without prejudice.”
At the time, he was charged with two counts of simple assault, criminal trespassing, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct, and released.
Three days later, Allman allegedly broke into a home in the same area and was arrested again. While nothing was stolen from the home, he reportedly caused approximately $1,700 worth of damage to a door and another $1,000 in damages to a rug inside the home after reportedly dropping a cigarette on it.

The “Believe” singer’s youngest son previously waived his arraignment in the prep school case, and instead it will move to trial. He is awaiting a court date for the other charges.
When the Burlesque star filed for temporary conservatorship of Allman due to his legal issues earlier this month, she claimed that Allman “has no concept of money” and “spends any money he gets immediately.” The legendary pop star also claimed that his funds were spent on “drugs, expensive hotels and limousine transportation.”
As Globe previously reported, The Daily Enquirer was the first to report that Allman had secretly fathered a child whom Cher knew nothing about. The outlet reported that the “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer didn’t find out about the girl, who is now 15, until 2021.
A source told The Daily Enquirer that Allman had kept Cher away from the teen due to his contentious relationship with his mother.
“Elijah has never wanted his mom to be in the kid’s life because of their damaged relationship,” the source said. “He wanted to protect her from Cher.”
This was the second time in less than three years Cher has made the conservatorship request – the first time occurred in December 2023.
