On the Thursday, July 30 episode of Brian Entin Investigates, Sy Ray — a former homicide investigator who specializes in cellular forensics, and who was retained by Kohberger’s defense attorneys to analyze the cellphone records and location data — said the phone data suggests Kohberger, 31, may have been inside the King Road house before the murders.

“I also believe it’s possible that Bryan Kohberger could have been at that house at certain times and not necessarily been noticed,” Ray said on the podcast. “I think he could have blended in very easily. A large group of guys specifically, but a large group of college kids hanging out in, near, around, the house may not have triggered what everybody thinks necessarily.”
“I’m not saying that there is evidence of him breaking in in the middle of the night and snooping around the house,” he continued. “I believe there is evidence of him late at night being at, near, or in the house but it’s also at high traffic times in that general area and I believe he could have blended in really easily.”
Ray also believes Kohberger’s phone data shows a pattern of surveilling multiple homes in the area. “I believe he is a serial killer,” Ray said on the podcast. “I think he had multiple targets throughout the entire Moscow, Poland area. And when you look at his phone at night, that’s what he’s doing. He is going around hitting these different houses, watching people, interacting with them potentially.”

As for Kohberger’s appeal bid, Ray said he supports a new trial. “I personally want him to get the appeal. I say let’s bring it on. Get a new trial but let’s do it right, let’s get the right investigators involved and let’s go show the world just how depraved this guy was. Let’s bring back the death penalty [punishment option],” he said. “We can never allow somebody like this to walk.”
He was blunt about the stakes if Kohberger’s bid succeeds: “If he ever does walk, he will kill again.”
