Barron Trump is stepping into the business world — but not without raising eyebrows.
According to a Tuesday, April 7, report in Newsweek, the 19-year-old is listed as a director of Sollos Yerba Mate, a new beverage company backed by $1 million in capital, according to filings. The brand is expected to launch in May 2026 with a single signature flavor: pineapple and coconut.
The name “SOLLOS” carries a specific meaning and is influenced by Barron’s sun-drenched Palm Beach, Florida upbringing. “Sol” means sun in Spanish, while “los” is “sol” spelled backward — representing the full cycle of the sun, from sunrise to sunset, and the brand’s motto: “It Begins Where It Ends,” per the outlet.
Barron is working alongside a group of young business partners, many with ties to elite schools and corporate backgrounds. The company is registered in both Delaware and Florida.

While there is no suggestion of wrongdoing, the NYU student’s business venture is drawing increased attention due to its proximity to power. Critics say business dealings tied to members of President Donald Trump’s family are facing heightened scrutiny as he serves in office.
At least one ethics expert is wagging a finger at the beverage launch. Norm Eisen — co-founder and executive chair of Democracy Defenders Fund— told the outlet that the Trump family’s business matters “opens yet another potential avenue of seeking to influence the president through his family’s assorted business schemes.”
