Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Nikola Topić is facing an unexpected and frightening health battle.
On Thursday, October 30, the team’s general manager Sam Presti announced that the 20-year-old basketball player has been diagnosed with testicular cancer, People reported.
“He has a tremendous group of oncologists working with him, and they are extremely positive about his outlook,” said Presti, who revealed that Topić underwent a testicular procedure earlier this month that led to the diagnosis.

It’s been back-to-back bad news for the promising young point guard who stands at a towering 6 feet 6 inches tall and hails from Serbia: Just last season, he was sidelined while recovering from a torn ACL.
Despite the tough news, Presti says Topić is in good spirits and has already resumed training again.
“He’s been in here training and working out,” Presti added. “Our only expectation is for him to focus on getting better.”
