A late-night Uber Eats delivery took a violent turn after the driver returned to a Miami apartment complex hoping to get a woman’s phone number and was allegedly shot by her boyfriend.
Local10 reported on Tuesday, October 13, that 33-year-old Khuslen Saruultuya is facing charges of attempted felony murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon following the early-morning confrontation Monday.
The driver, whose name has not been shared publicly, first met Saruultuya’s girlfriend while delivering food to Pearl Dadeland Apartments around 2:35 a.m., according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by the outlet.

He told deputies he “took a liking to her” and returned about 50 minutes later hoping to get her phone number.
Investigators say Saruultuya then pulled up in a gray Chevrolet Corvette, pointed a handgun at the driver and told him to get on the ground, according to Local 10.
The driver did as told, and Saruultuya allegedly fired a round that grazed him, then hit him on the back of the head with the gun, according to the affidavit.
Authorities say Saruultuya then pointed the gun at the driver’s head and told him, “I am going to kill you.” His girlfriend reportedly tried to intervene, yelling, “Babe, please stop!”
The driver eventually escaped and drove himself to South Miami Hospital for treatment.

A witness described a two-door sports car and its Florida plate, which deputies traced to a 2021 gray Corvette registered to Saruultuya.
Deputies took Saruultuya into custody at his home with no resistance, and he is being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
He was held without bond as of Tuesday, according to Miami-Dade clerk records.
