Kimberly Guilfoyle reportedly did not take PresidentDonald Trump‘s recent comments well after she was asked to resign as the U.S. ambassador to Greece.
On Tuesday, October 13, during a press briefing, new White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia revealed that Guilfoyle, 57, had been asked to resign from her position.
Later that day, a reporter pointed out to the president, 80, that the former Fox News personality “was almost a member of your family.”
Guilfoyle dated the billionaire’s son Donald Jr. for six years, and the pair were even engaged at one point. They called off their engagement in 2024.
However, the commander in chief responded, “No, she wasn’t a member of my family. She, I guess, dated my son a long time ago.”

“That absolutely crushed Kimberly,” a source told Rob Shuter in the Wednesday, October 14, edition of his Naughty But Nice Substack. “She defended Donald, raised money, fought his battles and stood by him when others walked away. Now he’s treating her like some random girlfriend. Losing her job was humiliating. Being publicly disowned was heartbreaking.”
“They can offer her money, a fancy job or even a pardon. But Kimberly wanted respect,” the source said. “She believed she was family.”
If Guilfoyle wanted to blow things up for the Trump family, the source said she could, noting, “Kimberly knows where the bodies are buried, figuratively speaking. She knows their secrets.
“But she isn’t seeking revenge. She’s devastated,” the source added.
Sources alleged that Donald Jr., 48 — who wed Bettina Anderson in May — tried to save his ex-fiancée’s position, according to Shuter.
“Don Jr. intervened, but Kimberly wanted to hear from Donald himself,” the source stated. “She’s been calling his personal cellphone, and he won’t return her calls. After years of loyalty, she cannot even get a goodbye.”
A story in The Wall Street Journal claimed Guilfoyle asked Trump donor Eric Deters to pay off her $100,000 American Express bill before her Senate confirmation hearing in July 2025.
Deters told NBC News that Guilfoyle asked if he could wire the money directly to American Express so “it won’t show up anywhere,” but he ultimately did not pay her bill.
However, in Guilfoyle’s X post after her resignation, she insisted, “These allegations are false, and I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation, and my integrity.”
