A Florida woman is facing a felony charge after deputies say they discovered cocaine concealed on her body during a jail intake search over the weekend.
Reagan Cox was arrested Saturday, June 27, for resisting an officer without violence during a traffic stop, according to a Monday, June 29, Facebook post from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. She was then transported to the Brevard County Jail, where Sheriff Wayne Ivey wrote on social media that “things get interesting.”
Per the post, as Cox was being processed through a scanner, deputies noticed “an abnormality…in the ‘lower region’ of her person.” Corrections deputies then moved her to a change-out room, where they said they observed her trying to cover her buttocks area with her hand. When she moved her hand, a baggie containing approximately 3.8 grams of cocaine dropped to the floor, according to the social media report.
Cox, 30, then claimed she knew nothing about the drugs, telling deputies someone must have placed the baggie on her “during an ‘intimate encounter,'” per the post. As a result, Cox now faces a charge of introducing contraband into a detention facility, in addition to her original charge.

Sheriff Ivey wrote, “Folks, if not realizing that someone left cocaine in your [body] is not a good enough reminder to not do drugs, then I don’t know what is!!”
Reaction to the arrest was swift in the comments section of the sheriff’s office’s Facebook post. One joked, “You all better check yourselves and make sure someone didn’t plant something there during your latest intimate encounter… apparently it’s a thing.”
CBS12 News reported that Cox was released from custody that same day. However, it’s unclear whether she has since entered a plea to the charges or retained an attorney.
