It seems that those in Tiger Woods’ inner circle are doing the best they can for the troubled athlete after his recent DUI arrest.

Woods — who was involved in a rollover car accident on March 27 after he allegedly clipped a truck — was reportedly found with opioids on him, and the people close to him are worried.

“Everyone’s finally seeing just how bad things have gotten for Tiger,” a source exclusively tells Globe, adding that the 50-year-old pro golfer has been “struggling physically and mentally ever since he had that terrible car accident five years ago.”

The 15-time major champion — who was previously arrested in 2017 for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs — was also involved in a car crash in 2021. Though no charges were filed that year, the golfer sustained multiple leg injuries and underwent surgery.

“The injuries left him in so much pain, and he’s been relying heavily on medication to cope,” says Globe’s source, who also points out that the death of his mother in February 2025 had a big effect on him. “She was his rock, and he’s been very unmoored without her.”

His girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, 48 — whom Woods has been romantically linked to since early last year — has been a “huge help,” the source explains.

Still, “she can’t solve everything,” the source points out. “It’s clear he’s in serious danger both physically and mentally. He’s managed to hide it all quite well, but there have certainly been worrying signs.”

“The problem is no one has been able to step in and help because he’s such a proud guy,” the source adds. “He wasn’t ready to admit there were any issues.”

Globe previously confirmed that the pro athlete — who pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test — was granted approval to travel outside the country to seek treatment.

“Now that he’s getting treatment, everyone in his life is praying it will stick,” Globe’s source says. “But there’s still a lot of anxiety about what happens once he’s back out in the real world and is facing everything again because this is not going to be a quick fix.

Adds the source: “His trauma runs way too deep.”

Following the recent ordeal, Woods released a statement on March 31 via X, writing, “I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.”
