Tiger Woods Told Authorities in Bodycam Footage He Called President Donald Trump After Car Crash

Tiger Woods had an important phone call to make shortly after flipping his vehicle over.

As seen in bodycam footage obtained by TMZ on Thursday, April 2, the 50-year-old pro golfer walked away from the scene on the phone, allegedly with President Donald Trump.

After the athlete was told to come closer to where authorities were standing, he can be heard saying, “Thank you so much. All right. You got it. Bye.”

Woods — who is dating Donald Trump Jr.’s ex-wife Vanessa Trump — then told authorities, “I was just talking with the president.”

The award-winning golfer’s most recent accident on March 27 came after he allegedly clipped a truck and was reportedly found with opioids on him.

While the 15-time major champion claimed he had not consumed any alcohol — he blew a 0.0 on the breathalyzer — or illegal substances when police asked, he did tell them he took “a few” when questioned about prescription medications, per an arrest affidavit obtained by Page Six.

Woods — who pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence with property damage and after refusing to submit to a urine test — was granted approval to travel outside the country to seek treatment, Globe previously confirmed.

The 79-year-old president addressed the news of Woods’ car crash shortly after the incident, saying, “I feel so badly. He’s got some difficulty — there was an accident, and that’s all I know. A very close friend of mine, he’s an amazing person, an amazing man. But some difficulty. I don’t want to talk about it.”

Woods was previously arrested in 2017 for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and was also involved in a car crash in 2021 (though no charges were filed that year).

Following the recent ordeal, Woods released a statement on March 31 via X, writing, “I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.”

“This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,” the statement continued.

“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time,” he concluded.
