The ladies of The View are facing an investigation. Fox News Digital reported that the FCC is launching a probe into ABC’s long-running daytime talk show, which is currently hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro.
Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico‘s recent appearance on the program sparked the inquiry. Talarico, 36, was the first political candidate to appear on The View since the FCC announced a new focus on enforcing equal air time for all political candidates last month. The organization, led by Donald Trump-appointee Brendan Carr since 2025, is particularly honing in on late night and daytime talk shows, which have historically been exempt from adhering to the rule.

“Under section 315 [of the Communications Act of 1934], if a broadcast station permits any legally qualified candidate for public office to use its facilities, it shall provide an equal opportunity to all other legally qualified candidates for that office,” read a press release issued by the FCC in January.

Talarico’s segment was nine minutes long, while his opponent in the primary, Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett (also a democrat) appeared on the show for 17 minutes last month (prior to the FCC’s announcement).
But the push doesn’t necessarily mean that The View would be required to have opposing political candidates on for interviews of equal length. According to Fox News Digital, a network can comply with the rule by having opposing candidates appear on different shows, or by airing campaign ads.
