Fashion giant Shein has pulled a shocking advertisement after eagle-eyed shoppers spotted what appeared to be suspected killer Luigi Mangione‘s face modeling a floral shirt, just as the $11.69 item flew off the shelves.
The controversial ad featured someone bearing an uncanny resemblance to the 27-year-old Mangione flashing a bright smile while sporting a men’s spring/summer button-down. Despite only one size being available, the shirt was reportedly close to selling out before Shein yanked the listing.
“The image in question was provided by a third-party vendor and was removed immediately upon discovery,” the retailer told TMZ on Wednesday. “We are conducting a thorough investigation, strengthening our monitoring processes, and will take appropriate action against the vendor in line with our policies.”

Social media users are buzzing with theories that the Mangione lookalike was AI-generated — especially since the accused UnitedHealthcare CEO shooter has been locked up at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since December 2024.
In April, the Ivy League graduate was indicted by a Manhattan federal jury on charges including two counts of stalking, one firearms offense and murder through use of a firearm.
Federal prosecutors are pushing for the death penalty, though Mangione has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
His legal team hasn’t commented on the Shein controversy.
