A Canadian woman who fatally stabbed a newlywed bride browsing nail polish at a Toronto drug store is now a free woman, 10 years after the gruesome killing, Toronto Today reported on Friday, June 13.
Rohinie Bisesar, now 51, stabbed 28-year-old newlywed Rosemarie Junor in the chest without warning at a Shoppers Drug Mart in Toronto’s underground walkway system in December 2015, as per the Toronto Sun. Junor was rushed to a hospital but declared brain dead and taken off life support days later.
The newlywed bride pleaded for help before collapsing in the store, according to documents filed by the Ontario Review Board and reviewed by People.

The Board granted Bisesar an absolute discharge on Tuesday, June 3, finding she no longer poses a significant threat to public safety, according to CBC. The board noted she has shown no signs of psychosis for years while taking two antipsychotic medications.
“Ms. Bisesar’s commitment to her present health has substantially contributed to this result,” the board wrote, as per the outlet. “The board wishes her well in her next chapter.”
Security camera footage from the shocking 2015 incident showed Bisesar placing the knife in a makeup display case before walking away. She was arrested four days later.
In November 2018, a judge found Bisesar not criminally responsible for Junor’s death due to untreated schizophrenia, as reported by the Toronto Sun.
“She was incapable of knowing the killing was morally and legally wrong,” Justice John McMahon said at the time, according to CP24.
At trial, Bisesar told the court she believed an “entity” was controlling her actions, CTV reported in 2018. She spent years in a mental health hospital before moving to an outpatient facility in late 2021.
