Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson is reportedly struggling following her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s arrest on Thursday, February 19.
In a Daily Mail article published on Friday, February 20, a source said the former Duchess of York, 66, “sounds in a bad way.”
“She’s been telling people she is really suffering with her mental health and thinks everyone is out to get her,” the source claimed. “But at the same time she is adamant that she wants to get out there and start earning money again.”
However, the source noted that it will be difficult for Ferguson — who was married to the former Prince, 66, from 1986 to 1996 — to make money as “her brand is toxic.”

“Her best hope of a money-spinner is a tell-all book about how her family’s friendship with Epstein has destroyed everything and left the monarchy in crisis — but she’s ruled that out apparently,” the source explained. “Besides she might end up having to tell that story to the police and a judge and jury or to some other form of inquiry.”
A second source said Ferguson is trying to figure out her living situation, as she would like to be near her and Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35, but is also considering moving to the United Arab Emirates.
“I think she’d like to stay in the Windsor area to make it relatively easy for Beatrice and Eugenie to visit with her grandchildren,” the source shared. “But I can see the arguments for basing herself in the Gulf if she really thinks she can still make money.”
According to The Daily Mail, the Epstein files also included Ferguson, revealing that Jeffrey Epstein claimed in one email that he had been “financially supporting” her since she split with Andrew.

As Globe previously reported, Andrew was taken into police custody on his 66th birthday for “suspicion of misconduct in public office,” according to the BBC. The misconduct was seemingly related to allegations that he shared confidential information with the late sex offender during his time as trade envoy.
Andrew was released “under investigation” late Thursday and returned to his home on Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. He has not yet been charged with a crime, per the outlet.
Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. Ferguson, who previously said via a representative that she was “taken in” by Epstein’s “lies,” also denies any wrongdoing and consistently maintains her innocence with regard to the scandal.
King Charles III issued a statement Thursday, declaring that authorities “have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation” in their investigation.
