President Donald Trump Trolls Kennedy Family Hours After Tatiana Schlossberg’s Death

President Donald Trump shared posts criticizing the Kennedy family just hours after the untimely death of Tatiana Schlossberg, the daughter of Caroline Kennedy and granddaughter of President John F. Kennedy.

Schlossberg died on Tuesday, December 30 at age 35. The middle child of Caroline and her husband, Edwin Schlossberg, had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, a battle she revealed publicly just over a month ago.

“Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts,” the JFK Library Foundation announced in a statement posted to Instagram. The statement was signed by Tatiana’s husband, George Moran, their children Edwin and Josephine, as well as her parents, and “Jack, Rose and Rory.”

As tributes poured in honoring Schlossberg’s courage and legacy, Trump took to Truth Social to troll the famous political family. In a series of posts, Trump shared screenshots of his supporters mocking the Kennedys. The posts centered on Trump’s recent decision to add his name to the Kennedy Center, the iconic performing arts venue in Washington D.C., which was established as a memorial to JFK following his 1963 assassination.

“The Trumps have always been supporters of the arts. The Kennedys are supporters of the Kennedys,” one screenshot shared by Trump read.

Another post claimed: “The Kennedy Center stood for decades as a crumbling monument to liberal neglect. While the Left worshipped the name, they allowed the physical structure to rot. Trump provided the capital and the competence to save it.”

“They don’t raise money for it,” another message read. “They never show up. And the only Kennedy who has been there recently is a member of Trump’s cabinet.”

On Thursday, December 18, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that the Kennedy Center’s board had “voted unanimously” to rename the building the Trump-Kennedy Center. The following day, workers added the words “The Donald Trump and” to the beginning of the building’s existing name, The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.

The move sparked controversy online. Tatiana’s brother, Jack, disputed the White House’s account, claiming on X that microphones were “muted” during the board’s conference call and that the vote was “NOT unanimous.”

Jack also pointed to his campaign as the Democratic Candidate for New York’s 12th Congressional District, writing that it “represents everything Trump can’t stand or defeat.”

Ohio Rep. Joyce Beatty echoed those claims, posting on X: “For the record. This was not unanimous. I was muted on the call and not allowed to speak or voice my opposition to this  move. Also for the record, this was not on the agenda. This was not consensus. This is censorship.”
