Pam Bondi is apparently hoping President Donald Trump will throw her a lifeline after he fired her as United States attorney general on Thursday, April 2.

According to the Friday, April 3, edition of journalist Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack, the politician, 60, is hoping for “a full presidential pardon.”

“She’s scared,” a source told Shuter. “There are multiple investigations, lawsuits, and real exposure closing in fast. And now she doesn’t have the same protection.”

“Subpoenas, lawsuits, ethics complaints — this is escalating,” the source revealed. “It’s not going away.”

The source explained the former attorney general of Florida “was already vulnerable,” seemingly from how the Department of Justice has handled the Epstein files, “but once she lost Trump’s support, the shield disappeared. Now she’s exposed.”

“In that world, protection is everything. Without it, you become a target — and she knows it,” the source added. “She’s no longer protected. And now she’s looking for a way out.”

While the source notes a pardon is by no means “official,” it’s “absolutely being discussed,” as Bondi is “attempting to get ahead of what’s coming. Before it gets worse.”

In March, Bondi was subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee for a deposition on the “Department of Justice’s handling of the Epstein investigation and compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act,” per a press release on the committee’s website.

While it remains unclear whether the April 14 deposition will proceed, Rep. Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, said Bondi “will not escape accountability and remains legally obligated to appear before our Committee under oath,” per Axios.

Meanwhile, Republican Rep. Nancy Mace — who forced the vote on the subpoena — told Axios: “My subpoena still stands … I did it by name, not as the sitting Attorney General.”

Mace, 48, also slammed Bondi on X, writing she “has stonewalled every effort to hold the guilty accountable.”

“The American people deserve an Attorney General who is transparent and delivers real accountability,” Mace penned. “We look forward to a new Attorney General who is committed to getting justice for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein.”
