Mark Sanchez’s attorney Tim Delaney appeared in court in Marion County, Indiana, on Wednesday, October 22, for a pretrial conference.
During his appearance, Delaney informed the judge that his former NFL star client, 38, is “still recovering from the injuries he sustained” during a stabbing incident that took place in Indianapolis earlier this month. He thanked the judge for allowing Sanchez to “be excused” from Wednesday’s hearing.
Sanchez was scheduled to call the Indianapolis Colts versus Las Vegas Raiders game in Indianapolis on Sunday, October 5. However, hours prior, he was involved in an altercation with a truck driver.

The former athlete was rushed to the hospital with “serious” stab wounds. As details began to emerge, Sanchez was arrested and charged with battery resulting in injury, public intoxication and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, all of which were misdemeanors.
He was later hit with an additional felony charge of battery resulting in serious bodily injury. Upon his release from the hospital, Sanchez was booked into the Marion County Jail on October 12.
“Right now, I am just focused on my recovery,” Sanchez told Fox 59 reporter Max Lewis as he exited the jail. “I’m recovering slowly.”
