Marion County, Indiana Prosecutor Ryan Mears made the announcement, per TMZ.
The former New York Jets quarterback, 38, was arrested and charged with three misdemeanors after allegedly assaulting a 69-year-old truck driver — known only by his initials, P.T. — outside of a bar in Indianapolis on Saturday, October 4.
The incident began when Sanchez, who appeared to be intoxicated, approached P.T. after midnight on Saturday morning near the Westin Hotel, where the truck driver was parked at a loading dock to collect used cooking oil from the resort, according to court docs seen by Fox59.

According to Fox59, the altercation was caught on security video.
Sanchez is accused of stabbing P.T. in the face during the altercation, while the truck driver allegedly stabbed the football player several times in the chest. He told police he acted in self-defense, per documents obtained by the New York Post.
Mears upgraded the charge after learning about P.T.’s condition, per TMZ.
“We’re lucky that no one’s dead right now,” said Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Chief Chris Bailey, the outlet reported.
If convicted, Sanchez could face up to six years behind bars, per TMZ.
