Former football player Mark Sanchez allegedly assaulted a man on Saturday, October 4, outside of a bar in Indianapolis.
The ex-New York Jets athlete, 38, reportedly attacked a 69-year-old grease truck driver, known just by his initials: PT.
The family of the individual has now addressed the incident.
“He’s OK,” PT’s family told the New York Post on Sunday. “We are talking to lawyers first. We want to be careful what’s said. We appreciate that.”
The outlet also published photos of the man laid up in a hospital bed wearing a neck brace. He had a bloodied mouth and cuts across his body.
Fox59 anchor Angela Ganoteshared the pictures on X, and explained the family said “he was cut in the fight and it went through his cheek and hit his tongue.”

According to court docs seen by Fox59, the man reportedly became involved in a dispute with Sanchez after midnight on Saturday morning near the Westin Hotel. The trucker was parked at a loading dock to collect used cooking oil from the resort.
Sanchez had come up to him and appeared to be intoxicated as his speech was slurred.
The former athlete then allegedly smashed PT against a wall and flung him to the ground.
After the driver hit the floor, he allegedly stabbed Sanchez as a method of self defense. The commentator was hospitalized shortly after the altercation and has since been released. However, he was arrested and charged with battery with injury, unlawful entry of a vehicle and public intoxication.
Sanchez was later released after a $300 bond was posted.
