Man Attempts to Run Over Random Jogger Who Said Good Morning to Him Before Crashing Into a Pole

A Georgia jogger had to run for her life after a stranger tried to run her down in the parking lot of the apartment complex she lives in.

The woman said she was getting in a little exercise when she saw a man she did not know. She said hello to him and wished him a good morning. His response was to get in his vehicle and attempt to run her over three different times, according to Law & Crime.

Cobb County Sheriff’s Office arrest records show that Jesse Allen Davis, 21, was arrested on Sunday, July 19, and charged with aggravated assault and a hit-and-run. Luckily, the woman he attempted to run down managed to escape unharmed.

According to WSB, the woman managed to run behind a dumpster and call 911. She was speaking with the dispatcher when Davis allegedly made two more attempts to run her over. Eventually, he began speeding away from the scene, hitting another car before crashing into a pole. Davis’ mugshot, obtained by WSB, shows several cuts and lacerations to his face, likely received during the crash.

Neighbor Lloydethan White told WSB that Davis almost hit his car before crashing into the pole. He noticed the reckless driving and the woman behind the dumpster, and stopped to ask if she was OK, not knowing the extent of what she’d been through.

“I think it’s wrong that a woman has to fear for her life and she’s just trying to go about her normal day and workout,” White said.

It’s unclear what prompted the attack, as the jogger claims she had never seen Davis before that day. He is currently being held in Cobb County Jail. His next court date has not been listed.
