Late NFL player Marshawn Kneeland’s girlfriend, Catalina Mancera, is pregnant, Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimerannounced to reporters on Wednesday, November 12, via the Dallas Morning News.
“We’re gonna honor Marshawn, his family, a number of different ways,” Schottenheimer said, adding that the team has established a memorial fund to financially support Catalina and the baby following the defensive end’s death by suicide on Thursday, November 6.
“We want to make sure she’s taken care of and the baby is taken care of for the rest of their lives,” he said, adding that “it’s very important” to the team.
Mancera, who had been dating Kneeland since at least 2022, according to her Facebook, spoke out for the first time on Monday, November 10.
“My sweet baby, words could never express how broken I feel, you’re my everything,” Mancera, who designs custom apparel for sports fans, wrote on Facebook.
“I’ll love you forever my beautiful angel,” she added, along with a white heart emoji.

Hours before his death, Mancera reportedly placed a 911 call to warn police that Kneeland was armed and had a history of mental illness, per TMZ.
Following a short police chase, the football player, 24, crashed his car and was later found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in a portable restroom.
As Globe reported earlier today, Kneeland’s family is now questioning whether he really died by suicide.
