Kris Jenner Considers Her Grandkids ‘the Future of the Franchise,’ Wants to Turn Them Into ‘Superstars’ (Exclusive)

Kris Jenner is determined to secure the long-term future of The Kardashians with the help of her grandchildren, Globe has learned.

“Even amid all her other duties and roles, Kris is the member of the family who is always plotting and strategizing about the health and success of their reality TV empire,” a source says of the business-savvy momager, 70. “She’s still making the big calls about the storylines, the marketing and the overall tone of the TV show.”

Which is why, in the wake of decreasing ratings, as reported in November by The U.S. Sun, Jenner is looking to the next generation for a potential ratings boost.

“Kris’ grandkids are now getting to the point where they can support storylines of their own,” reveals the source, adding that the mogul sees them as “the future of the franchise,” especially “as her daughters continue to make inroads and build new businesses away from the cameras.”

As Globe previously reported, Kim Kardashian is ready to ditch the long-running reality TV show in order to pursue other endeavors.

“The Kardashians will never be as big a business as, say, Kim’s Skims company but it’s still everything to Kris,” the source notes. “And she’s dying to build [her grandchildren] into proper superstars the way she was able to do with her daughters.”

There’s just one problem.

“Kris is facing headwinds not just from her girls but from their babies’ various daddies [too],” spills the source.

Kim’s ex Kanye West, in particular, “makes a point of directly opposing Kris’ views about anything having to do with his kids and it’s very hard to change his mind about anything,” the source says of the “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” rapper, 48.

However, “Kris’ confidence in the show, and her plans for its longevity, know no bounds,” declares the source. “She’s not backing down!”
