Kim Kardashian ‘Wants to Produce More Dramatic TV,’ Has Found ‘a Terrific Ally’ in Jessica Simpson

Hollywood odd couple Jessica Simpson and Kim Kardashian clicked while filming All’s Fair and sources say they plan to parlay their pairing into future projects.

Insiders say the glamour girls, who are both 45, built a solid friendship while bonding over plastic surgery on the set of the Hulu series.

“Jessica and Kim have known each other casually for a long time, but while working together on All’s Fair they formed a lasting alliance,” says an insider.

“Their adventures with cosmetic surgery are a relatively open topic. During the shoot, they compared notes on everything from doctors to the latest cutting-edge treatments.”

“These two are not normal soccer moms. They’re both internationally famous glamour icons and understand they look very interesting together.”

All’s Fair is a legal drama about an all-female divorce firm that boasts a star-studded cast including Glenn Close, Naomi Watts and Sarah Paulson. Although critics blasted it as one of the worst TV shows ever made, it’s been renewed for a second season and Jessica’s performance created buzz. She guest-starred as a rock star wife who undergoes plastic surgery to look younger and was nearly unrecognizable in the role.

The mom of three told Good Morning America she wore a “lot of prosthetics” to achieve a botched plastic surgery look and called the role “empowering.”

“Walking in, I just had to act like I knew what I was doing until I was actually doing it, and I’m like, ‘Oh, maybe I do know what I was doing,’” says Jessica, whose only major acting gigs were in 2006’s Employee of the Month and 2005’s The Dukes of Hazzard.

Adds the insider: “Jessica’s work on the show genuinely got people excited. As one of the show’s executive producers, did Kim mastermind Jessica’s role? That’s hard to say, but the other producers are fine with letting Kim take the credit for it.”

“Kim wants to produce more dramatic TV and she’s got a terrific ally in Jessica, who sees every acting job as an opportunity to learn and grow. They will definitely be doing more things together.”
