North West is getting ready to break into the music scene after reportedly inking her first record deal at the age of 12. However, her budding career is said to be taking up a ton of momager Kim Kardashian’s time.
“There’s no doubt she’s been instrumental in helping North get to where she is. She’s a genius at making deals,” a source tells Globe. “The big problem is that Kim still has her own career.”
In addition to appearing on The Kardashians, the billionaire, 45, runs a shapewear brand Skims and recently signed on as a co-founder of the energy drink UPDATE’s re-launch. She’s also got a hit scripted series, All’s Fair, and is set to star in the upcoming Netflix movie, The Fifth Wheel.
“[Kim’s] overwhelmed as it is and now North really needs her,” says the source. “She’s not going to hand over the reins for North’s career to anyone, so the only solution has been getting a lot of hands on deck for her stuff.”

There’s only so much the people under Kardashian’s employ can do though.
“She’s just so particular,” admits the source, which has meant “a lot of very late nights and early mornings” for the business mogul. “Most of the time Kim is running on 3 or 4 hours of sleep these days.”
It’s not something she can sustain, the source says of the mother of four, who also shares daughter Chicago, 8, and sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 6, with ex-husband Kanye West.
“She’s barely keeping it together as it is,” reveals the source. “Once North hits her stride, Kim is going to have to make some hard choices. There’s no way she can do it all. She’ll snap.”
