Kanye West Banned From Entering UK as Music Festival Is Canceled

Kanye West is persona non grata in the United Kingdom.

West, 48, had his visa revoked by the UK Home Office, according to The Guardian. The controversial rapper — who was scheduled to headline the upcoming Wireless Music Festival in London — is prohibited from entering the country.

“Where individuals pose a threat to public safety or seek to spread extremism, the government has not hesitated to act, and that includes cancelling permission to enter this country for extremist preachers and far-right figures,” a statement from the UK Prime Minister’s Office stated on Tuesday, April 7, per the outlet.

Shortly after news of his ban broke, the Wireless Music Festival announced that the show “has been forced to cancel.”

The three-day festival was scheduled to take place in London’s Finsbury Park from July 10 through July 12.

Prior to pulling the plug on the fest, sponsors like Pepsi, Diageo and Rockstar Energy dropped out due to the controversial rapper’s involvement.

The Grammy winner — who shares kids North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6, with ex-wife Kim Kardashian — has come under fire in recent years for his antisemitic remarks and other hateful outbursts.

He cited his mental illness as the cause for his fits in an apology ad published in the Wall Street Journal.
