Jennifer Lopez Still Believes Ben Affleck Will ‘Come Crawling Back’ But That’s ‘So Not Happening’

Jennifer Lopez may be starring in a film about finding love, but on the promotional tour for Office Romance, the four-time divorcee made it very clear that she’s completely content without a man after splitting from ex-husband Ben Affleck in 2024.

“Being in a relationship doesn’t define me,” Lopez, 56, declared in October 2024 while chatting with comedian Nikki Glaser in Interview magazine. “I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself.”

“I shoulda done it sooner!” she said of being single during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, May 27.

“I call this my happy era,” the actress told Tefi Talks podcast host Tefi Pessoa at the film’s New York City premiere on Tuesday, June 2.

However, Lopez may be trying a little too hard to convince everyone she’s fine on her own.

“To be clear, nobody in J.Lo’s world is buying this talk that she’s happy to be single and totally over Ben,” an insider tells Globe.

As Globe previously reported, a source says Lopez is convinced that “third time will be the charm” if only Affleck, 53, would take “a leap of faith” and give their relationship one more chance.

“She’s been on this mission to show him what he’s missing and still has this delusional belief that he’ll come crawling back at some point for another shot,” says the insider. “The fact she’s still griping about Ben and the impact of the divorce while he stays totally silent and just tries to move on with his life kind of says it all,” though.

A reconciliation is “so not happening,” adds the insider, and Lopez “needs to get her head around that.”
